Welcome to 27

About a month ago I got a hair cut to celebrate my birthday. It went from this:

Easter 2014

to this:

To say that I'm pretty darn pleased with it is an understatement. And then a couple of days later I did something that I've been wanting to do for a long time. Did you notice? There's just a hint of it in the photo above.

I put color in my hair. You guys, I've been talking about doing this for years. I have never done anything but sun-in in my hair before. Ever. But I've wanted to. I've thought about it and pinned a million photos. I didn't want to spend a a bunch of money and I didn't want to make a mess. And I didn't want to risk it coming out crazy. But this year in honor of my 27th (!!!!) birthday I decided to bite the bullet and just do it. And I LOVE IT!!

To be honest, I was going for a nice medium blue. And, well, I got green. Not too surprising given how light my hair is. But, seriously, I'm in love! It's a gorgeous shade of green and it's really subtle. Not too in your face but very definitely a fun color.

I did a chunk of hair on the right middle side of my hair and a small section in the left toward the front, just behind my ear. The section by my ear didn't show up as well as the bigger chunk. I think it's because my hair is much darker on the bottom.

It has faded a little bit over the four weeks since I did it. Which I kind of expected. I actually just did the ever classy kool aid dye and it worked out pretty well. And best of all it was super cheap. I don't have any photos of the process but I'm still planning a post detailing the process that I used. It was really simple although I got terrible cricks in my neck.

All in all, I very please with how it turned out! It's fun and colorful, and it makes me smile every time I look at it. Happy birthday to me!
