Part 1 of Why I love my small house...

After ragging on myself and my feelings about my small (672 sq ft) house yesterday, I want to expand on some of the reasons why I really do love this house. This is the first post in a series discussing the elements that I love about my house. Today's post focuses things unique to this house. The next few posts will be more encompassing and contain more specifics.

For starters, it's small. Yes, yes. I know I was complaining about this yesterday but sometimes it's such a blessing. I can clean the whole house, the whole house, in about two hours top to bottom. Every single inch of it. That, my friends, is amazing!

Secondly. Because our house is so small there are only four rooms. Living, kitchen, and two bedrooms. And because there are only four rooms each of them is on a corner. And that means each room has at least two windows! The living room has three if you count the windows in the door. And I most definitely do!

Thirdly. Despite is being so small it has a laundry/utility room! Those of you who have lived without a washer and dryer know how miserable that is. And this house holds a washer, dryer, and mini upright freezer all within this little room.

Fourthly. This house has a baseboard, crown molding, and corner molding. That molding makes a world of difference in making my house appear more finished. P.S. I love the little triangle piece at the very top.

Fifthly. I love that our land lady let me paint when I moved it. I wouldn't necessarily use most of these colors again (I picked them out five years ago at the ripe age of 19). But I don't hate any of them and that's more than can be said for how the house was painted before (think lilac with plum trim).

Alright, folks! There you have my top five! Tomorrow I'll look at the bathroom in more detail!
